DHS has recently began conducting ERDC unannounced visits pursuant to OAR 461-165-0180(7)(d) Child Care Provider Eligibility requirements.
These visits are guided by program integrity efforts mandated by federal requirements, as well as education and clarification regarding the requirements for DHS child care providers receiving subsidy payment through DHS. These visits are separate from the Office of Child Care (OCC) health & safety inspections. In addition, the intent is to measure the efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of program funds.
Mr. Andrew Isom is a DHS employee contracted from the Fraud Investigation Unit (FIU). Contact with providers is based on a random selection and not driven by fraud referrals. Providers will be shown a DHS employee identification badge, DHS business cards identifying Mr. Isom for provider’s reference. In addition, Mr. Isom is providing clarification that his visits are not a health & safety inspection for OCC but rather an ERDC/DHS program integrity visit for any provider receiving subsidy payments from DHS.
