BELOW IS A LETTER FROM CCD REGARDING NEW RULE REVISIONS FOR SUNSCREEN USE IN CHILDCARE.
We are writing to notify you that we are implementing temporary rules revising the rules that govern the use and application of sunscreen in child care facilities. One of the changes is providers may now use one container of sunscreen for all children in most circumstances. The rules also specifically permit the use of spray bottles but prohibit aerosol containers.
The effective date for these temporary rules is June 12, 2012. We will not be printing new copies of the rule books yet. The new rules will also be posted on the website shortly.
A copy of the revised temporary rules for Registered Family, Certified Family and Certified Center rules is attached. The rule wording is exactly the same for all three sets of rules. Please distribute to members, constituents and partners. Providers should contact their licensing specialist if they have any questions.
