DHS Response to your Fax Questions
Provider Question
What Days and Hours the Fax number is available?
DHS Answer
The fax number, 503-373-1580, for billings only, is available 24/7. Any billing faxed after 5:00 pm, will be processed the following day.
There were no reported issues with the fax last night. Please have them try again. In the future, if they have difficulty getting a fax to go through, please gather the following information so that we can better troubleshoot the issue: (give this information to Faye to check on your situation)
- What time are they faxing?
- Where are they faxing from?
- Are they getting a busy signal?
Provider Question
Why can’t I fax multiple billing forms at one time?
DHS Answer
Regarding your initial question and concern from providers who have multiple families and find it difficult to fax each billing separately, we are working on that issue. Because the process is new and the faxes do not come to DPU, it takes some time for our two units to work out the bugs. For now, providers can continue to fax the billings separately.
If they fax multiple billings together it may delay payment until our two units have a way to separate the multiple faxes without always doing it manually.
We are meeting early next week to work on issues. I will let you know more about the multiple billings after that meeting. We are striving for a working solution.
Provider Question
Can we scan and email the billing forms to DHS?
DHS Answer
We are not able to accept scans through email. Not an option at this time.
