Oregon Family Child Care Scholarship
AFSCME CCPT negotiated half a million dollars ($500,000) for training scholarships for Licensed Family Child Care Providers in our most recent contract.
You can use the links on this page to access more information and to apply.
This scholarship program is for ALL family child care providers whose names are on their family child care licenses. It can't be used by staff :( at this time. And it is not available to exempt providers (those who are NOT licensed) nor is it able to be used by centers.
This money is available until June 31st, 2019, or until it runs out. It is also available on a first-come-first-awarded basis until it runs out, meaning that some providers may not get funds (if they wait too long).

You can use the scholarships to pay for:
$300 in college credit OR
$200 for Set 2 or Set 3 classes with an ORO-Approved Sponsoring Organization like our union, CCR&R, PRO, ORAEYC (you can attend more than one class and use the funds for each but for a max of $200) OR
$200 for Conferences (you can attend more than one conference and use the funds but for a max of $200) OR
The CDA test (fully covered) OR
The ORIMHA endorsement process
PLEASE NOTE: You may only pick from 1 of the 5 scholarship "types"
Choose your "type" carefully: for example, if you choose the scholarship for trainings, you can attend as many trainings (that meet the conditions of the scholarship) until you have used all $200. You can continue to take classes but any remaining balance after you have used the full amount, is your responsibility.
If you have any questions, please contact Anneliese 503-508-2287 or email@example.com
You DO NOT need to be an AFSCME member to use these funds.
You may be asked by some vendors/organizations to apply for the John and Betty Gray Scholarship before this one for certain trainings and/or classes. If you don't qualify for John and Betty Gray Scholarship, you should STILL qualify for this one.
